Apple has determined that a small number of 1TB hard drives used in 21.5″ and 27″ iMacs, sold between May 2011 – July 2011, may fail under certain conditions.
Apple is contacting affected iMac owners to let them know about this program. If you have not been contacted, but think you have a 1TB Seagate hard drive, follow the link below and enter your serial number to see if it is part of this program.
